CASE FILE 12
A Dose
of
Truth
Truth is medicine. Some men bottle it for profit.
A scientist vanishes from a military-backed laboratory.
A corporation wants him found.
The government wants the matter contained.
A German doctor warns Frank to keep what he found hidden.
At the centre of it all is a fractured formula for something called the Behavioral Compliance Serum, a chemical designed to pull truth from a man whether he wants to give it or not.
In New Alderidge, truth is not sacred.
It is negotiated.
And sometimes sold to the highest bidder.
THE CASE FILE
Frank Mercer first sees the story in small print.
A missing scientist.
A vague corporate statement.
No real explanation.
Then Mr. Grey walks into the office on behalf of Harrington-Blythe Corporation and offers Frank more money than the job should be worth.
Find Dr. Adler alive.
That is the brief.
But the folder Frank receives is full of redacted military documents, missing names, blacked-out sections, and one small detail that does not add up: Harrington-Blythe knew Adler was missing before the public did.
The trail leads Frank to a sterile laboratory, a hidden formula taped beneath a desk, a German scientist named Dr. Vogel, and an underground bunker marked with military codes.
There, Frank discovers what Adler was really working on.
Behavioral Compliance Serum.
A truth drug built for interrogation.
Designed in war.
Prepared for peace.
Ready to be sold.
Now Frank has part of the formula, a missing scientist to find, and a corporation powerful enough to make both disappear.
