That kind of invitation does not usually come to men like Frank.
But his name has been moving through the city’s cleaner circles lately. Councilmen. Judges. Businessmen. Socialites with polished smiles and blood under their fingernails.
Rita wants a night out. Frank wants a bourbon. Angel wants him watching the room.
Then Mrs. Hinklemyer collapses in front of the crowd, blood foaming at her lips.
